YATO.
Minimalistic short animation based on human unconsciousness and interpretation.
This project is now in use for educational purpose at the Hogeschool Zeeland (Begeleiding bij rouw en verlies).
It's an idea based on the 'Rorschach test', in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using psychological interpretation.
The test was a failure of the 1960s, but I wanted to redesign it because the underlying psychology fascinated me.
In conclusion to lots of prototypes, interviews, field research, and usability tests I made a redesign using a combination of film, abstraction, and music. Hereby I'm not focussing on perception, like Rorschach, but on the interpretation and the unconsciousness.

I've made a book (in Dutch) about this project, it contains all my design choices if you are interested you can contact me any time.
